MMinistry of Transport Enhances Highway Charging Infrastructure
Initiatives to Alleviate “Energy Replenishment Anxiety” for Electric Vehicle Owners
The Ministry of Transport’s efforts in enhancing highway charging infrastructure were discussed during a regular press conference in April. Guo Sheng, Deputy Director of the Highway Bureau, highlighted progress and future plans.
On the morning of the 29th, the Ministry of Transport held a regular press conference in April to introduce the construction of major transportation projects since the beginning of this year. Guo Sheng, Deputy Director of the Highway Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, stated that the Ministry of Transport is accelerating the construction of charging infrastructure systems along highways. As of now, a total of 23600 charging piles have been built. With the continuous improvement of charging facilities in service areas, the “energy replenishment anxiety” of electric vehicle owners who travel on highways and long distances is gradually easing.
-
Accelerating Construction:
- The Ministry has expedited the development of charging infrastructure along highways, with 23,600 charging piles already installed.
- Improved facilities in service areas ease concerns regarding electric vehicle travel.
-
Ongoing Initiatives:
- The Ministry plans to guide regions in fast-tracking charging facility construction and optimizing layout.
- Continuous efforts aim to meet electric vehicle charging demands for road travel.
-
Enhanced Service During Holidays:
- A joint notice with the National Energy Administration focuses on key areas:
- Increasing the number of charging facilities in service areas.
- Strengthening charging supply in busy regions.
- Improving the charging guarantee plan.
- A joint notice with the National Energy Administration focuses on key areas:
Guo Sheng introduced the Ministry’s plan for the year. It aims to guide regions in accelerating charging facility construction. It will optimize layout and settings based on annual work deployment. The goal is to meet the charging needs of electric vehicles. Additionally, the Ministry recently issued a notice. It aims to improve holiday charging infrastructure in conjunction with the National Energy Administration. It focuses on deploying specific aspects of work.
One is to increase the total number of charging facilities. The Ministry of Transport will accelerate the construction of charging facilities in service areas, further improving the coverage rate of charging facilities and the proportion of charging parking spaces in service areas. Strengthen the upgrading and renovation of charging facilities with high failure rates, outdated technology, and safety hazards, as well as old and slow charging facilities with lower power.
The second is to strengthen the charging supply in busy areas. The Ministry of Transport will guide various regions to regularly analyze and sort out the list of busy charging service areas.By implementing measures like constructing high-power charging facilities and equipping mobile charging facilities, the authorities will further alleviate holiday queueing in service areas.
The third is to improve the charging guarantee plan. The Ministry of Transport will promptly use the “e-Road Smooth” mini program. Currently, the “e-Road Smooth” mini program has been connected to Gaode and Baidu Maps. After logging into this mini program, users can quickly check the location, real-time status, charging mode, and other information of charging facilities on highways nationwide through the “Charging Station Check” module. At the same time, the Ministry of Transport also releases real-time status information of charging facilities through electronic variable information boards on highways, further improving emergency plans for charging support on highways, and fully ensuring the safety and convenient travel of new energy vehicles during major holidays.
Conclusion: Through these initiatives, the Ministry aims to provide comprehensive support for electric vehicle owners, ensuring safe and convenient travel during holidays.
